SpecialShelf Text Messaging Terms
Version 1.0
Last updated: 15 October 2026
For shoppers
Program: order updates from the shop you placed a special order or layaway with. Shops use SpecialShelf to send these texts, which start with the shop's name.
What you'll get: messages about your own orders only: deposit or payment links, "your order is here", pickup reminders and layaway payment reminders. Never marketing or promotions.
How you agree: at the counter, staff ask: "Can we text you updates about your order? Message frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to opt out." You get texts only if you say yes. Agreeing is never a condition of buying anything.
How often: message frequency varies with your orders, typically 1–5 messages per order. Texts are sent between 9 am and 8 pm, shop time.
Cost: message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile plan. Neither the shop nor SpecialShelf charges you for texts.
Stop any time: reply STOP (or STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT) to stop all texts from that shop. You'll get one confirmation and nothing more. You can also reply in your own words (for example "please stop texting me") or tell the shop. To start again, reply START.
Help: reply HELP, call the shop, or email support@agnosticai.co.za.
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Your privacy: see the Privacy Policy. Mobile numbers and text-messaging opt-in data and consent are never shared with or sold to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. They are used only to send the order updates you agreed to; we share them only with our text-message provider so the message can be delivered.
For shops
- You are the sender of texts to your customers, and they go only to customers who agreed using the script above (see the Acceptable Use Policy).
- Texting is on the Pro plan and needs US carrier registration of your business; until it's approved your customers get email.
- Opt-outs are recorded per phone number for your store and apply to every future order.
- Fair use: 500 message segments per location per month; above that, messages go by email.
